A Parent's Perspective on Autism

This is a youtube video that expresses a parent's perspective on autism. I thought it was neat the strategies that are used to help students with autism such as music therapy.

  1. Jessica,
That was very moving. You know it is hard to imagine all that goes into being a family with a child with autism and I am reminded about how powerful the internet has become for these families. Not only can they learn about things they might not find out about otherwise but they can find a community where they are not the outsider, rather they are one of many who are dealing with the same things.

    Nice find.

  2. What a great video. We learn about disabilities in our classes, but videos such as this give us a personal view of the lives of children and their families, and from an emotional perspective. Also, after all the discussions on inclusion, it's nice to see the other side of that debate. Here we saw a successful example of children with disabilities being taught together in their own unique setting.
